BEST ROTI CANAI IN SELANGOR
Kanna Curry House in Section 17, PJ
One of the most famous banana leaf rice restaurants in PJKanna's fish curry goes superbly with its crispy warm rotiOne of the most popular banana leaf rice restaurants in the Klang Valley,Kanna Curry House also serves pretty good roti canai. Unlike many similar restaurants that only serve banana leaf rice during lunch hours, you can still order a piping hot serving of roti canai if that's what you prefer for a lunch fix. Ours arrived crispy and warm, but served on an artificial piece of banana leaf paper. The dhal and fish curry was good. Each serving of roti canai costs RM1.30.
Kedai Makanan Raju at Jalan Gasing, PJ Packed to the rafters, but thankfully service was still promptRaju's roti canai is crispy and fluffyOne of the most blogged about roti canai eateries in PJ has got to beRaju's. Many roti canai aficionados firmly swear by its fluffy and crispy dough. Service was fast and efficient, and true enough, our roti was served promptly on a large piece of lustrously green banana leaf; fluffy and light, with just the slightest touch of oil. We enjoyed the dhal too, which is quite thick with mushy lentils.
Restoran Al Fariz Maju in Kelana Jaya, PJRelatively under the radar, Al Fariz Maju churns out one of the best roti in townVery light and fluffy, almost greaseless. The sweet sambal on the side is excellentOf all the roti canai shops we sampled, our favourite was Al Fariz Maju. Their roti canai was the fluffliest and crispiest, as well as almost grease-free. Their dhal was also thick and aromatic. A small portion of sweet sambal was also served, which really perked up the palate and provided an appetising contrast to the savouriness of the dhal and curry. Prices here are also cheaper than other places, with each roti canai at RM1.10 and a piece of fried chicken costing RM3.50.
Sri Melur Jaya in USJ 17, SubangSri Melur Jaya has been voted as serving the best roti canai, and with good reason!A fluffy and crispy version, served with a flavourful dhal, curry, and sweet sambalFresh from winning theStar Readers Community Choice Award 2014 for the best roti canai in Klang Valley, Sri Melur Jaya does live up to expectations with their crispy warm roti canai. Compared to Al Fariz Maju, the roti here is a tad oilier, and according to my partner, slightly more fragrant than Al Fariz’s. Their dhal, whilst flavourful, was more on the watery side. Similarly to Al Fariz, a side of sweet sambal was also provided. Each piece of roti costs RM1.30 and fried chicken was the cheapest at RM3 per piece.
Restoran Nasi Kandar Makbul in Shah Alam
Makbul is definitely one of the cleanest nasi kandar restaurants I've been to. Everything's laid out neatly, from the chairs and tables to the different food sections. The interior is bright and well-ventilated.

At night, Makbul lights up like a beacon in the sea!The roti here is also highly recommended - it is warm, crispy and there's hardly any grease. The dhal served is spicier than many places we've tried, but still very aromatic.
Pair their yummy roti kosong for a Milo kosong ais for a fuss-free supper optionPortion is however, noticebly smaller, but with a price that commensurates - RM1, the cheapest by far. I'd rate Makbul's roti to be on par with Raju's.
