'Is the arrest of Umno MP Abdul Rahman Bakri just a 'sandiwara'? Do you think the rakyat believe that you are fair? Forget it. If you really want to do your job seriously, then get the big ones'.

Blitz continues: MACC charges ex-Gerakan state rep

Louis: Dear MACC, is this just a 'sandiwara'? Do you think the rakyat believe that you are fair? Forget it. If the MACC really want to do its job seriously, then get the big ones. I repeat - we want the big ones.

Did you investigate thoroughly the allegation of former Selangor menteri besar Mohd Khir Toyo's big purchase of a mansion? What about our 27-year-old billionaire?

Then we have the richest unemployed. Lots more. Let me teach you, MACC chief Ahmad Said. Get the big ones and the rest will not dare to steal. Yes, get the head and the tail will behave.
Umno MP hit with 8 corruption charges

Doc: Did the MACC check that the Sabak Bernam MP Abdul Rahman Bakri was an Umno parliamentarian? Maybe they made a mistake. After all, the MACC goes after opposition members only.

No matter. Abdul Rahman Bakri would be cleared of all graft charges somewhere down the line. I'm sure Umno would not want him to be found guilty by the MACC and the courts.

If he is forced to vacate his parliamentary seat on a account of being found guilty of graft, that would spell a by-election. Currently Umno is suffering from a case of serious allergy towards by-elections.

In addition, charging Abdul Rahman Bakri in court will send the wrong message to Umno members that corruption is unacceptable. Being a party that thrives on corruption, this message will be hard for it members to swallow.

To top it off, how come Abdul Rahman is charged with graft but the 'King of Corruption' in Selangor is still running loose - Mohd Khir Toyo. Umno can't be seen to be practicing double standards on corruption issues. Then again, that has already happened.

Roti John: Why did it take such a such a long time to charge Abdul Rahman? It happened years ago and he has only been charged now. Yes, yet another 'wayang kulit'.

Macgyver Goh: Hail the MACC! But don't just charge the 'ikan bilis'. Go after those big 'sharks' and 'whales' too. Hidup MACC!

Concern Citizen: This is just tip of the iceberg. I believe Umno just wants to show to public that a BN candidate can also be questioned and arrested by the MACC. They simply choose a non- performing candidate to be the scapegoat.

High-income tax reduction quite pointless

Nicholas Lim Ming Xhin: My thoughts exactly. Recently, the prime minister chided us for complaining about the RM50 credit card fee when he had already given us extra RM1,000 by the increased tax relief from RM8,000 to RM9,000 as well as reducing the income tax from 27% to 26%.

First and foremost, you would have to earn more than RM100,000 annually to even qualify for the 1% reduction. Secondly, increasing tax relief from RM8,000 to RM9,000 does not mean you magically have an extra RM1,000.

It only means that for the first RM9,000 you earn is not taxed and extra money you get is tied to how much you are taxed. Unless your tax is 100%, nobody in Malaysia is getting an extra RM1,000, as wrongly claimed by the prime minister.

Did he even understand what he was saying?

Goodies for Chinese schools in the works?

Tan Co: Why did it have to take so long for the BN government to recognise the United Examination Certificate (UEC) when it is recognised by Singapore, Taiwan and China? Shame on you, MCA, for having no guts to fight for this. Now PM Najib Razak will be claiming all the credit.

Eugene: Do we actually need more vernacular schools in an increasingly divided nation? Unity can't be achieved if the people don't communicate via a common language, what more in trying to achieve a '1Malaysia'?

I've met some Chinese and Indians who are only able to speak Mandarin and Tamil respectively. They couldn't even mutter a single Bahasa Malaysia or English word which is sad; especially when we are living in a multiracial and multi-cultural country.

Gov't not giving APs to 6 new companies

Sudevan: Same number of APs, lesser number of recipients, which translates into more money for crony companies. In other words, milk 'em dry before the policy is scraped. Gee... we could use another slogan for this.
